Conceria MADERA was founded in May 1984 as a producer of vegetable-tanned calfskins. From the outset, it was characterised by its technological innovations designed to change the look of skins which until then was considered only in the more classical styles: smooth, polished and semi-polished. We do not wish to say that we were the first to believe in innovative research, but we were certainly one of the first tanneries to help to interpret skins differently. After a long period of vegetable tanning of calfskins, we also added chrome tanning, introducing a classic touch to our classic production, yet continuing along the path of research, imagination and creativity. Today Conceria MADERA is one of the companies that has enhanced its specialisation, building on rather than phasing out the experience from its early days. Our production ranges from classic to patent, laminated, pearlised, drum-shrunk and, our speciality, mottling and aging by hand, always taking into maximum consideration the specific needs of each customer.
